Embed the wheel
Put a free spin wheel on your own website, or use it as a browser source in your streaming software. Pick a template or type your own names, choose colours and a transparent background, watch the preview, and copy the code. The embedded wheel has no ads and never touches the saved wheels of the people who use it.

Add it to your website
- Build the wheel above and copy the embed code.
- Paste it into an HTML or custom code block of your page or site builder. The code is a normal iframe, so any place that accepts an iframe works.
- Set the width and height that fit your layout. 480 × 600 shows the wheel and the spin button. Add about 160 pixels of height if you show the list and settings.
- Check the page on a phone. The iframe shrinks to the width of its container.
Use it in streaming software
- Copy the browser source URL from the builder and tick Transparent background.
- In your streaming software, add a browser source (OBS Studio and similar programs have one), paste the URL, and set a width and height such as 600 × 700. Menu names differ between versions.
- Click the wheel on the source, or open it in the program's interact window, to spin. Pressing the SPIN button works too.
- If your program cannot show a transparent source, use the full screen view on the main wheel with the green background and remove the green with a chroma key filter.
Options you can set in the URL
| Option | What it does | Example |
|---|---|---|
theme | light or dark | theme=dark |
bg | transparent for a see-through page background | bg=transparent |
controls | 1 shows the list, the settings and the Wheel/Slot switch | controls=1 |
sound | 1 starts with sound switched on (the first click still starts the audio) | sound=1 |
names | a comma separated list, up to 200 names | names=Anna,Bence,Cili |
palette | a colour palette: classic, blue-orange, forest, berry, mono, ocean, candy or neon | palette=forest |
colors | your own colours as hex codes without the # sign, 2 to 12 of them | colors=e11d48,f59e0b,16a34a |
zoom | 0 turns off the zoom on long lists (it is on by default) | zoom=0 |
mode | wheel or slot | mode=slot |
duration | spin time in seconds, 1 to 30 | duration=8 |
Options are added after a ? and joined with &. A list made with the builder travels after a # and takes priority over names.
If the background is not transparent
- Make sure Transparent background is ticked. The embed code then also sets
color-scheme:lighton the iframe. - Browsers can paint a solid background in an iframe whose colour scheme differs from the page around it. Keep that style on the iframe. This is how we understand the browsers' behaviour: test it in the browser you target.
- In streaming software, check that the source is not set to a custom background colour.
Questions about embedding
Does the embedded wheel show ads?
No. The embedded wheel has no ads. It has one small credit line that links back to wheelpicknames.com.
Does an embed save the names of the people who use it?
No. An embedded wheel never reads or writes the visitor's saved wheels, and the list stays in the browser of whoever is looking at it.
How do I get a transparent background?
Tick Transparent background in the builder. It works in streaming software that supports transparent browser sources, and in websites where the iframe sits on top of your own background. If you see a solid colour instead, check the troubleshooting notes below.
Can people change the list inside my embed?
Only if you tick Show the list and settings. By default viewers see just the wheel and the spin button, so the list you chose stays as it is.
What if my list is very long?
The list travels in the link, so very long lists make long links. For lists beyond a few hundred names, use a shorter list or a template and set the names with the ?names= option.
